2.9 GPA Colleges

A 2.9 GPA (unweighted) means a student has gotten mostly B's in high school.

If you're looking for colleges that accept students with a 2.9 GPA, you have many options throughout the country. Looking for private schools? Consider Dean College in Massachusetts, or Bethany College in rural West Virginia, not far from Pittsburgh.

Hoping to find a larger, state school? Take a look at Kentucky State in Frankfurt, KY, SUNY Buffalo in upstate New York, or University of Baltimore in Maryland.

Remember, these schools have an average GPA of 3.0, which means about half of the students have a higher GPA, and half have a lower GPA. In general, colleges prefer to see students with a rising GPA, which means their grades have gone up over time.

If you're not seeing any four-year schools you're excited about that accept students with a 2.9 GPA, you might consider community college. Two-year schools can be a great way to save money while you bring up your GPA. Then, you'll be a more competitive applicant if you want to transfer to a more selective four-year school.
