Colleges in Wyoming

Wyoming is a land-locked state located partially in the Rocky Mountains and partially in the High Plains region of the U.S. Though Wyoming is one of the largest states, it has the lowest population of any state.

Wyoming is home to the country's first national park, Yellowstone National Park, plus eight public colleges and universities. There are no private, not-for-profit colleges in Wyoming. In 2020, just under 40,000 students were enrolled in a college or university in Wyoming.

The University of Wyoming is the state's flagship public university. UW has seven colleges, focused on agriculture and natural resources, arts and sciences, business, education, engineering and applied sciences, health sciences, and law. It offers both on-campus classes and distance learning opportunities for students from Wyoming and beyond.

The other public, non-profit colleges in Wyoming are all two-year community colleges.
