Colleges that Guarantee Admission
Auto-admission is the guarantee of admission based on academic qualifications. While most schools cannot guarantee admission, some schools will offer auto-admission based on things like test scores, class rank, and GPA. Here is a list of schools that offer guaranteed admission.
University of California, Merced
University of California school system offers guaranteed admission for California residents who are in the top 9% of California high school students according to the Statewide Index or students who rank in the top 9% of their graduating class from a participating high school. Additionally, the qualifying student must have applied to and been denied admission to the UC campus of their choice – the student will then be offered a spot at another campus where space is available.
Eastern Washington University
Eastern Washington University grants automatic admission for resident and non-resident students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who have scored either 1100+ on the SAT OR 24+ on the SAT.
Kansas State University
Kansas State University guarantees admission for resident students who have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and for non-resident students who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Additionally resident and non-resident students must have an ACT score of 21+ or an SAT score of 1060+.
Mississippi State University
Mississippi State has auto-admission for resident and non-resident students who meet a variety of requirements including, all in-state students who complete the College Preparatory Curriculum with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
Texas Tech University
Texas Tech University offers guaranteed admission to resident and non-resident students who are in the top 10% of their graduating class and students who meet specific test scores if not in the top 10%.
The University of Arizona
University of Arizona automatically accepts in-state students who are in the top 25% of their class or students who have a GPA of 3.0 and higher.
University of Louisiana at Lafayette
University of Louisiana at Lafayette offers guaranteed admission for in-state freshman as well as for out-of-state and home-schooled freshman. The qualifications for in-state freshman include: an 18 ACT English Or 500 SAT evidence-based Reading & Writing, a 19 ACT Math or 510 SAT Math, a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher, and have completed the Louisiana Board of Regents Core 4 Curriculum with a 2.5 GPA (waived if you score 23 or higher on the ACT or 1130 or higher on the SAT). Out-of-state and homeschool students have similar qualifications except with a slight change regarding the Louisiana Board of Regents Core 4 Curriculum.
University of North Texas
University of North Texas has guaranteed admission for resident and non-resident students who qualify under any of these requirements: • Rank in the top 10% of your high school class and submit SAT or ACT scores • Rank in the next 15% and have a minimum 1030 SAT or 20 ACT • Rank in the 2nd quarter and have a minimum 1130 SAT or 23 ACT • Rank in the 3rd quarter and have a minimum 1250 SAT or 26 ACT • Are a registered participant in UNT's Eagle Advantage program • Have a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher
University of St. Thomas
University of St. Thomas will automatically admit in-state and out-of-state students who have a 2.8 GPA (or higher) and who score at least a 23 on the ACT or at least a 1140 on the SAT.
The University of Texas at Arlington
University of Texas at Arlington has assured admission for in-state and out-of-state students who are in the top 25% of their class. Students who are not in the top 25% of their class may also be ranted automatic admission if they rank in the second quarter of their class and have at least a 22 on the ACT or at least a 1130 on the SAT.
The University of Texas at Austin
University of Texas at Austin offers guaranteed admission for Texas residents who are in the top 6% of their graduating class.
The University of Texas at Dallas
University of Texas at Dallas has guaranteed admission for Texas residents who are in the top 10% of their class.
The University of Texas at El Paso
University of Texas at El Paso offers guaranteed admission for in-state and out-of-state students in the top 25% of their class, and for other students based on other qualifications.
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin
University of Texas of the Permian Basin has assured admission for Texas residents and non-residents who are in the top 10% of their class, and for other students based on other qualifications.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
University of Texas Rio Grande Valley guarantees admission to in-state and out-of-state students who are in the top 10% of their graduating class.
Washington State University
Washington State University has assured admission for in-state and out-of-state students who are in the top 10% of their class or who have at least a 3.50 GPA.
Central Washington University
Central Washington University guarantees admission for resident and non-resident students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Iowa State University of Science and Technology
Iowa State University grants automatic admission to in-state and out-of-state students who have a Regent Admission Index score of 245 or higher.
Montana State University
Montana State grants automatic admission for both resident and non-resident students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, or an ACT score of at least 22 or an SAT score of at least 1120, or students who rank in the top 50% of their class.
Oklahoma State University
Oklahoma State has automatic admission for in-state and out-of-state students with varied qualifications.
Prairie View A&M University
Prairie View A&M University automatically accepts both resident and on-resident student who are in the top 25% of their class.
South Dakota School of Mines and Technology
South Dakota School of Mines guarantees admission for resident and non-resident students with a GPA of 2.75 or higher and either a 20+ ACT math subscore or a 520+ SAT math score.
Southeastern Louisiana University
Southern Louisiana has automatic admission for all applicant students who meet a variety of qualifications.
Texas A&M University
Texas A&M University guarantees admission for resident students who are in the top 10% of their class.
Texas State University
Texas State University has automatic admission for resident and non-resident students who are in the top 10% of their class and who graduate with a Distinguished Achievement, Distinguished, or Recommended diploma, or equivalent.
Tulane University
Tulane University has automatic admission for in-state students who apply early decision AND who have a 3.6 GPA or higher with either a 31+ on the ACT or a 1450+ on the SAT.
The University of Iowa
University of Iowa offers [guaranteed admission(https://admissions.uiowa.edu/college-liberal-arts-and-sciences-first-year-admissions) for in-state students with a score of 245 or more on the Regent Admissions Index. The school offers guaranteed admission for non-resident students with a score of 255 or more on the Regent Admissions Index.
University of Montana
University of Montana will automatically admit any student (resident and non-resident) who has a GPA of 2.5 or higher or who is in the top 50% of their class.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
University of Nebraska offers assured admission for resident and non-resident students who have at least a 3.0 GPA or who are in the top 50% of their class or who score either a 20 (or higher) on the ACT or a 1040 (or higher) on the SAT.
University of Nevada, Las Vegas
UNLV has assured admission for in and out of state students with a GPA of 3.0 and higher who score a least a 22 on the ACT or at least a 1120 on the SAT.
The University of Texas at San Antonio
University of Texas at San Antonio has guaranteed admission for resident and non-resident students who are in the top 25% of their class, and for other students based on other qualifications.
Arizona State University at Tempe
ASU guarantees admission for Arizona state residents who are in the top 25% of their class or have a 3.0 or higher GPA. Additionally, the university will assure admission for in-state student who get a 22 or higher on ACT or an 1120 or higher on the SAT. ASU guarantees admission of non-resident students who are in the top 25% of their class or have a 3.0 or higher GPA or who get a 24 or higher on the ACT or an 1180 or higher on the SAT.
University of Florida
Florida Public school students who graduate from a Florida high school and rank in the top 20% of their class are guaranteed admission to one of Florida’s 12 state universities.
Middle Tennessee State University
Middle Tennessee State University grants automatic admission for both resident and non-resident students with qualifications that vary.
Minnesota State University Mankato
Minnesota State grants automatic admission for both resident and non-resident students with a GPA of at least 3.0 or an ACT score of at least a 21 or students who are in the top 50% of their class.
Morehead State University
Morehead State has unconditional admission for both resident and non-resident students who earn a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Nicholls State University
Nicholls State has automatic admission for in-state and out-of-state students with varied qualifications.
Northern Arizona University
Northern Arizona University auto accepts resident and non-resident students with a GPA of 3.00 and higher.
University of Central Arkansas
University of Central Arkansas has automatic admission for resident and non-resident students with a 2.75 GPA or higher and who score either a 21+ on the ACT or a 1080+ on the SAT with minimum subscores.
University of Houston
University of Houston has assured admission for resident and non-resident students who are in the top 10% of their class. Qualifications vary by department and major.
The University of Kansas
University of Kansas offers assured admission to KU’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences or to the School of Social Welfare. To qualify students must have a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale if not submitting test scores. For students submitting test scores, they must have a GPA of at least 2.0 with an ACT score of at least 21 or an SAT score of at least 1060. In addition, the school offers assured admission for transfer students who have 24 or more transferable credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher from their previous college or university.
University of Mississippi
University of Mississippi offers automatic admission for Mississippi residents who meet specific qualifications.
University of Missouri
University of Missouri has assured admission for resident and non-resident students who score either a 24 or higher on the ACT or a 1160 or higher on the SAT.
University of Nevada, Reno
University of Nevada, Reno will automatically admit resident and non-resident students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
University of Southern Mississippi
University of Southern Mississippi offers guaranteed admission to resident and non-resident students who adhere to a variety of requirements based on completion of the College Preparatory Curriculum and test scores.
The University of Texas at Tyler
University of Texas at Tyler will automatically admit in and out-of state students who are in the top 10% of their class. For students not in the top 10%, guaranteed admission is still possible under a separate list of qualifications.
University of Wyoming
University of Wyoming offers guaranteed admission to resident and non-resident students with at least a 3.0 GPA who score at least a 21 on the ACT or at least a 1060 on the SAT.
